My path to where I am today wasn't a straight line. It was filled with unexpected turns, setbacks, and times when I felt completely lost. Maybe you've felt that way too – juggling so much and wondering if you'll ever find your footing.
It started with a devastating blow. I was a senior, ready to make my mark on the football field, when a brutal injury – a broken fibula and torn ligaments – shattered my dreams. Suddenly, the scholarships I'd worked tirelessly for disappeared, except for a chance at the Naval Academy.
Even there, where I pushed myself to excel, maintaining a 3.0 GPA and earning the role of platoon XO, my journey took a heartbreaking turn. In the final week of the year, I was kicked out. A failed drug test. The shame and disappointment were crushing.
Like many of us when we're hurting, I tried to escape. I spent years – almost a decade – numbing the pain with alcohol and drugs. Pride and self-doubt kept me from facing my family, from confronting the mess I'd made. I felt like a failure, and that feeling consumed me.
Then, quarantine arrived. Silence. No distractions. Just me and the echoes of my choices. A powerful inner voice (I believe it was the Holy Spirit), a moment of clarity, forced me to acknowledge: this couldn't go on. I had to forgive myself and let go of the past, to start rebuilding from the ground up.
A move to Knoxville offered a chance to breathe, and then, the news that changed everything: my wife was pregnant! That news ignited a fire in me. I started small – a beer less each week, half a shot cut back. I began to crave the gym, to feel my strength returning. And slowly, my life began to transform.
After training all different types of people, I realized that women often need the most support in navigating the overwhelming world of fitness and wellness. Women who are busy, strong, and capable but sometimes feel overwhelmed and lost – finding their own path to sustainable wellness. That's why I created The Transformation Project. Because I believe that no matter where you are, change is possible. And I'm here to guide you, every step of the way.
3 key strategies to transform your mind and body through sustainable practices that fit into your busy life.
Let's build healthier habits together! Instead of restrictive diets, we'll focus on incorporating more whole foods into your meals – think vibrant fruits, vegetables, lean proteins, and whole grains. We'll also work on making mindful choices around alcohol consumption, finding a balance that supports your goals. It's all about making small, consistent changes that add up to big improvements. We'll celebrate every step of the way, because sustainable progress is what truly matters.
Let's make movement a joyful and consistent part of your day, in a way that truly fits your life! Whether it's a brisk 10-minute walk to clear your head or a focused hour-long workout to build strength, every bit of activity counts. I'm here to help you discover what type and duration of movement feels energizing and achievable for you right now, so you can experience the incredible benefits of consistent activity without feeling overwhelmed or sacrificing your valuable time.
Prioritize sleep – it's the foundation of your energy and success. While you rest, your body is working hard: repairing muscles, regulating hormones, and preparing your mind for the day ahead. Consistently getting quality sleep isn't just about feeling less tired; it's a powerful tool to boost your focus, productivity, and overall well-being. Think of it as investing in your ability to conquer your goals with clarity and vitality.
